Project Management
The Lake Alice Watershed Management Plan project is being managed by a Project Team that includes representatives from Planning, Design, and Construction; Facilities Services; the Office of Sustainability, and Business Affairs Technical Services. The Project Team is working with lead consultant Wetland Solutions, Inc. and a team that includes Jones Edmunds Engineering and Rooted in Process to assist with technical aspects and public engagement (the Consultant Team).
In addition to the Project Team, the project will solicit and receive input from a Steering Committee of 29 representatives from the University of Florida that includes faculty, staff, and students, as well as other partner organizations. Each representative has a specific technical or scientific background that is relevant to one or more areas of interest for the lake and watershed.
The roles and responsibilities of the Project Team, Consultant Team & Steering Committee are below:
Project Team
- On behalf of the University, serve as the project decision makers
- Manage the Lake Alice Watershed Project
- Provide guidance and support to gather input and feedback from the Steering Committee and community stakeholders
Consultant Team
- Apply professional expertise to complete the technical elements and develop recommendations in collaboration with the Project Team and Steering Committee
- Jointly develop an equity-centered stakeholder engagement design and work plan; gather perspectives from all stakeholders and provide results to help shape decisions
- Support the Project Team and Steering Committee to be fully informed and work collaboratively
Steering Committee
- Use technical, scientific, institutional, historical, and community knowledge and expertise to provide input and feedback to the PT throughout the project
- Help design and implement process to gather input and feedback from community stakeholders
